As
easily as you can create a new photo album — and you know
how easy that is in iPhoto — you can share it with friends
and family thousands of miles away. At full resolution. Automatically.
Introducing Photocasting.
A new feature in iPhoto 6, Photocasting allows
.Mac members* to share albums with anyone, anywhere. Say you have
new photos of little Jessica. Place the photos you’d like
to share in an album called “Jessica’s Latest Pics.”
Then click the “Photocast this Album”
button. iPhoto publishes the album, and others can subscribe to
it by clicking a link in an email you send.
But here’s where the real fun begins. Once
Aunt Sophia subscribes, the photos automatically download into a
“Jessica’s Latest Pics” album that instantly appears
in her iPhoto 6 library. We’re talking beautiful, full-res
photos identical to the ones you took. Aunt Sophia can use them
however she’d like. To make iPhoto books, calendars, or cards.
Create slideshows. Or use as a screen saver or desktop image. What’s
more, if you add photos to your “Jessica’s Latest Pics”
album, Aunt Sophia’s album updates automatically.
Oh, and if Aunt Sophia doesn’t have iPhoto
or she has a computer that runs Windows, she can still subscribe
to your Photocasts via any RSS-compatible browser or RSS reader.
* Photocast publishing requires Mac OS X v.10.4.4
and .Mac. The .Mac service is available to persons age 13 and older.
Annual membership fee and Internet access required. Terms and conditions
apply.
